College Affordability

So much of our work revolves around the student and finding their "good match" college. One often overlooked part of this process is college affordability. Sometimes the cost of college can take a back seat in this process, and at other times it becomes the overriding factor. Striking a balance between these two can be a juggling act.

Keep in mind that in most cases the "sticker price" of a college is not what the student/family will have to pay.

While there are many terms in financial aid, the key pieces of information can be understood with some work. We help our students/families through the terminology with simple, straightforward examples. We will determine how much "need" a particular college generally offers.

It is also important to look at the student's "gap" and "EFC". These two together make up the true "cost to the family". When offer letters come out in April, we will spend time comparing the offers apples-to-apples.

Learning Differences

Finding the ideal college fit for an LD student is both challenging and rewarding. We believe that no two college-bound students with a learning difference are the same. Matching the level of support needed for an LD student to the correct college is the key.

Our experience and training in assessing a college's support services allows us to give appropriate advice and guidance in this process.

So, let's get started.
